The second half of 2013 will see a bigger boom in small cells for both Verizon and AT&T.
The small cells will be deployed to LTE networks in a total of 497 markets, according to AGL.
AGL states, “More than 200 LTE small cells will be deployed in the next six months to enhance localized capacity and coverage in business districts and shopping malls, wherever there is concentrated traffic. Because they are only the size of a mini refrigerator, small cells can be deployed on lampposts, utility poles and building walls.”
AT&T’s small cells will be focused more on the outdoors where DAS is not the most cost-effective solution.
STEALTH provides concealments for both small cell sites and DAS sites. A boom in small cell sites could mean a boom in small cell concealments.

Admit it, most of us love sports. We are crazy about them. We wake up at the crack of dawn, pack our cars, and head to the stadium to cheer on our team. Our team is winning, and everything is great, until you try to text your friend the score and the text doesn’t go through.
Your good day turns frustrating as you realize at halftime you can’t call your significant other to tell them while they are in line for the concession stand, to bring you back nachos. You can’t Tweet or update your Facebook status. The game finally ends and you can’t wait to call your friend and discuss the highlights, but your phone is dead because it has been searching the crowded networks for a signal.
What does all of this have to do with DAS? DAS antennas allow fans, like yourself, to enjoy the game and still have adequate cell phone service. That text you sent your friend, goes through without a struggle. You can Tweet game updates and go over all the highlights with your friend after the game. STEALTH conceals DAS antennas so rowdy fans don’t tear them down which would leave you struggling for cell phone again!
What do catfish and antenna concealments have in common?
Well follow us and we will show. STEALTH builds antenna concealments to hide unsightly antennas from human eyes. As a fisherman is sitting by a pond or lake waiting to catch that big catfish to bring home for dinner, he may be surfing the web for fishing tricks, updating his Facebook, or Tweeting and Instagramming photos of his new catch.
As the fisherman is relaxing, he doesn’t notice the antennas that enable him to use his phone at lightening speed. The antennas are out of sight, and out of mind™ allowing the fisherman to continue relaxing and enjoying his surroundings.
So next time you go fishing, you can thank STEALTH for hiding the eye sore of antennas that could disturb your fishing trip.
The debate as to the health risks associated with cell towers and the necessity of cell towers is becoming an all to common occurrence.
A recent article in the Rio Rancho Observer argued in favor of a proposed clock tower cell tower concealment that would be located in a local park.
The article states, “The public benefit, of course, would be moving a step closer to having dependable cell phone service throughout the city of Rio Rancho, which has become critical as more and more households abandon landlines for cell phones only. Living in a wireless-only home makes it imperative to have a sure-fire way to make an emergency call if necessary. That there might be radiation hazards to health associated with cell towers is a legitimate question to raise, but studies to date suggest otherwise.”
In fact, you put yourself more at risk by using your device than by standing or living near a cell tower, states the article.
The stigma surrounding cell towers is sure to stick around, but with proper antenna concealment, generations to come may never know cell towers exist.

One Massachusetts town has found themselves in the middle of an all too common debate, what type of cell tower concealment will work best for the town.
According to the Berkshire Eagle, the Dalton, MA Zoning Board of Appeals met to discuss a new Verizon cell tower. During the meeting, all 20 attendees were in favor of the new cell tower being built to resemble a smokestack that will blend in with the industrial landscape.
The new smokestack concealment was approved by the Zoning Board and sent to the Select Board. The Select Board Chairman said the smokestack concealment was “patronizing and insulting to the town”. The Chairman is in favor of a tree concealment to better blend in with the surroundings. The Chairman stated, “We don’t need another smokestack adjacent to another smokestack.”
Deciding on a type of cell tower concealment is an all too common issue. STEALTH can offer our expert advice on what type of concealment will work best for your town. Contact us today to discuss your future concealment site.
